Editorial
Our commitment to accuracy and how we handle errors.
Last updated: 2026-04-25
We publicly acknowledge any factual error we detect or that is reported to us. Corrections are never hidden, silently edited, or removed from the historical archive.
We distinguish three levels: (a) Clarification — when ambiguous wording could lead to incorrect interpretations; (b) Minor correction — typo, secondary date, or figure; (c) Major correction — error in a central claim that changes the article's meaning.
Minor corrections are applied directly with a footer note on the article: "Correction [date]: [description]". Major corrections also include a visible notice at the start of the article and public notification on our Twitter account. The dateModified is always updated.
Email corrections@brickandbits.com with: article URL, paragraph or figure in question, source backing your report (if available), and your contact. We confirm receipt within 24 business hours and resolve within 5 business days.
If an article is based on a fundamentally incorrect premise, we retract it: the content is replaced by an explanatory note, the URL is preserved to avoid breaking external links, and it is marked noindex so it doesn't appear in search.
